Electronic and electrical equipment are rated and evaluated based on different factors. Energy efficiency is definitely the most important aspect worth considering when calculating energy stars and ratings. Energy efficiency evaluations are not limited to just electronics, it has become equally important for homes to be assessed for energy consumption patterns. Investing money on a five star rated AC would have no meaning if the house itself is ridden with faults.

 

Energy ratings for homes are based on the simple criteria of heat insulation. An apartment is considered more energy efficient (thus eligible for higher energy star ratings) if it maintains a thermally comfortable environment for the occupants. There is no reason why you should not try to lower running expenses as much as possible. By buying a five star rated AC, you are setting the way for huge savings in bills and maintenance costs, which is always a good thing for all of us. 

 

Secondly, there is a nature conservation angle to it as well. Energy we use in running our air conditioners, room heaters and electrical appliances comes from burning fossil fuel which is a non-renewable source of energy. That resource is ending up fast and if we do not take proactive steps at conservation, it is going to run out soon leaving our future generations in darkness.
